The Power Of Now

Ever got into a street race.. Try to relive the thrill of that moment when you don’t care about how mad is your  girlfriend after you forgot her birthday ,what would happen if you get into an accident.. Why have you done this or that stupid thing in the past? Blah...Blah.
Try to visualize the last time you faced a viva or gave an exam. All of your focus was to do your best In that 1 hour.. This is what we call living in now.
People talk about what shitty things or good things happened to them in the past. Everyone knows talking about it won’t make any difference. We try not to talk about it but can’t help it.
Every single person reading this article knows this so called OBVIOUS fact but none of us have ever tried actually to live in present. I have just Read the book the power of now by Eckhart Tolle recommended to me by a friend. And believe me or not. Today itself i realised the power of now.
Each of us wants to live in now but we have no idea what the hell does it means.
To cut it short.
These are the things you need to do in order to experience the true present. Neither a moment after now.. Nor a moment before now.
1. Pay attention on what you are doing at this moment. If i am not wrong I’d say you are reading the steps and thinking how long is this article .Well if you have kept up till now read a few more lines.
2. Forget about all the other things you have to do this include your projects, facebook, whatsapp, games, studies...etc.
3. Go back to step 2 and try again: P
4. I mean seriously do as asked.
5. Okay, if you have cleared your mind of all the other stuffs memorize all that you have read till now.
6. If you were able to recollect most of it i.e. at least the steps you were living in now...Else go back to step 1 and try again.
7. If you did go back to step 1 you would have realised this time all of your focus was to remember the steps you weren’t worried about your noisy roommate, your broken fan or of anything else. And you were actually living in now. Next time try to remember everything you read.
8. Now,
Remember these 8 steps when you switch back to your work.
When you are living in the present... well to be more precise when you are actually living in the present you don’t care about the clock time instead you should care about the psychological time. It will automatically get you access to clock time.
To understand it better consider this example.
Say Today you have to complete an assignment, Do you laundry pay your bills, buy grocery.
You decide to get all these things done in a particular time window. Obviously if you are living in now you won’t worry about any other work but what you are doing at this moment you can’t look at the clock again and again worrying about how much time is left for you to complete this work since looking at clock will take you to worries about the future.
Here comes the role of psychological time which is your own perception of duration. with a little practice you shall have a great command over psychological time and you won’t be needing clock time any more.
Advantages of Now.
We know we can’t decide the future. We may have a basic idea about what would be the outcome of our certain actions. But we can’t guarantee those would be outcomes. The only way to ensure it is to work now and forget about the future.
Stress overtakes when you think about all the things you need to do without any Idea of when you’d start working on them.
You must have noticed how you feel relaxed after making a time table for studies before an exam.. before even starting to prepare because you have already created the picture of what is going to come to you if you start working according to the time table but you never follow it and this leads to stress.
It would have certainly helped you a lot if you would have completed one of the tasks instead of making the time table.
It doesn't mean that we should stop making time tables. Just make sure that you focus on what needs to be done right now at this particular moment and stop worrying about the remaining tasks.

Try this for once I bet you would be surprised by the results.
P.S: There is never a good time for anything so start to live in now NOW.
